Channeling

Channeling is the most often used term when describing the action of mediumship, or allowing a spirit or other immaterial being to relay messages through a medium — a human being who opens him- or herself to the messages the spirit wishes to convey. Sometimes, the medium will enter a trance before the spirit communicates (which he does either verbally or in writing); this is called trance channeling. When the medium is in a trance, the spirit typically has full use of the body (whether or not it chooses to exercise full use) and often afterward the medium will not remember what occurred during the trance. When the spirit is in control of the body, it is said that the spirit is “riding” (Vodoun) or “fronting” (multiplicity/soulbonding) depending on what terminology is in play.

It is also possible to channel a spirit without entering a trance; this is called conscious channeling. When the medium is conscious, it feels like the spirit directly “plugs in” to her mind, and she receives his thoughts as clearly as her own, but without the foreshadowing that comes with knowing where the message is leading.

Most mediums who work in front of large groups are trance mediums, because this type of channeling is more effective with groups than conscious channeling is. Conscious channeling tends to be one-on-one and very personal, often inducing catharsis or long-term benefits to one’s emotional and personal equilibrium. On this site, all of our mediums (so far) are conscious mediums. If you know a trance medium who’d like to be a part of this venture, you can find information on the “Become a Mentor” page.

We are not doctors, and while spirits may have a higher view, the message is limited by the medium and his/her capacity to relay that message accurately. If you have a medical or mental health issue, please consult a professional. (2.) Channeling your spirit companion is a service that accompanies, not replaces, spirit associated counseling. Your SC is welcome to assist in this counseling, but if all you require is a medium, there are hundreds to be found online who’d be happy to serve you.
