Hi, I’m Xanquela. (Sounds like zan-KWEE-la.) I’m an eclectic pagan practitioner with a strong New Age leaning, a path I’ve followed since the mid-1980s. I’ve been exposed to a broad range of pagan paths, though I see myself as self-styled in that I embrace the concepts that carry the ring of truth for me, regardless of the origins of those concepts.
I’m gay, male, born in 1963. I’ve been in recovery from addiction to stimulants since 2002, and I volunteer at GLBTQ organizations in the Seattle, WA area as a peer counselor and general support staff. With my personal insights into the issues affecting the GLBTQ community and my personal experience with recovery, I offer a compassionate and supportive perspective to others in similar circumstances. I’ve received training in peer counseling and have volunteered since 2007.
The most important aspect of any sort of recovery is honesty — to yourself and, by extension, to others. If you approach your recovery from a foundation of honesty, you have already won half the battle. You hear often in yoga about “strengthening your core”; I feel that your core extends within, to your center. Find your center, and the rest will follow.
Xanquela currently offers:
