Holy Jeepers Creepers, Batman!

Okay, I know I’m supposed to take this sort of shit for granted, but I really don’t. I’m not accustomed to big shows of physical manifestation, and they don’t occur that often. But I’m sitting here at my desk, right? And the front door is right in front of me and to my left, through Continue reading →

Stars Tonight Were Amazing

I’ve never tried to photograph the stars before, but tonight as we came home from dinner, I marveled at the brightness of one near the moon. Long Time No Blush

Talk About Out On A Limb…

The other day I wrote the post “Memory Lane is Nowhere Road,” a random ramble about places I used to live and people I used to know. When I was 18, I met the San Antonio-based band Heyoka and followed them closely (if not always literally) for several years, whenever I was in the area. Continue reading →

Miracles Really Do Happen, Sometimes

Recently, as you know, my roommate moved out, which left me in a financial crisis. I’ve been working on various means to improve my situation, but none of them were moving with anything approaching warp speed. I spent most of the previous week trying to keep my power from being shut off; the agency for state aid here told me on Monday that they could definitely help me, then never called and never answered any more of my phone calls. Perhaps the guy whose voicemail I kept getting wasn’t the same guy I initially spoke to, and perhaps that guy was out of line. Perhaps something came up and the office has been uninhabited all week. All I know is that a sure thing turned into a no-thing, and
