Human Nature

Bloom where you are planted.

I posted this in response to a friend’s locked LiveJournal post. I’d like to share it here, intact, as a snapshot of my views, which perhaps I will expound upon. But you’ve probably heard it here before, in any case. I see a lot of evidence of what I’ve come to believe is the most Continue reading →

Meridjet Speaks – Manifesting Wishes

First time he has spoken up to weigh in, in a while.

On the Spirit Companion Yahoogroup, a member asked for Meridjet and others to sound off on books such as The Secret that espouse manifesting your reality. The one she referenced said that whatever you ask for is immediately granted. She also wondered about impossible wishes, such as making a person look different or regrow an Continue reading →

What Fires Your Soul with Passion and Inspiration?

A fired-up soul, to be sure.

Well over a year ago, I started a post with an old original-to-Sheta survey and my responses. It’s still unfinished in the drafts folder, but I was just looking at it for the first time since and found this question. My answer pleased me, so I’m giving it up here. It serves as a really Continue reading →

Banishing, for the Unfamiliar

Earth banishing and invoking pentagrams

In my last post on getting rid of unwanted spirits, I rather shoved the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram (LBRP) at you. In this post, I’ll give more information about that ritual and what it does. The Short Version The Qabalistic Cross draws divine light into you and your personal space, basically asking for Continue reading →

Sheta’s Story, Part 2 – Meeting Meridjet

Oh man, I think I just drooled.

Part one is immediately previous to this post. I recommend this mp3 for this post (right click and save as). Meeting Meridjet, via Henry Disclaimer, I guess: Despite my years-long history of spooky encounters, the notion of a spirit being anything than either a guide or something to be afraid of had never occurred to Continue reading →

In the Spirit of Friendship

I get email forwards all the time. Most of us do. Today I got one that was a little more inspiring than the average fare, and I thought I would share some of it, with a little commentary. I hope you will find it equally inspiring. People come into your life for a reason, a Continue reading →

Book Series, Part 2 – Doubt

What follows will be the last unfiltered bit of my manuscript that I will post. If you’d like to see more, please go here and sign up for this series. Chapter One, part 2: Doubt Doubt is one of the hardest challenges in the spirit companion (SC) relationship. Doubt can be anything from objectively waiting Continue reading →

Crossing the Abyss – A Repost

I originally posted this about a year ago. I just made a permanent page for it (link in the sidebar of this blog), and I’m reposting it here because I don’t know if the RSS feed picks up pages. The first time I posted it, it received zero comments, which was disappointing. Thank god I Continue reading →

Wow, Nostalgia

My mood has been all over the place lately. The last couple of hours, I’ve been damn happy. Mostly lately, I’ve been blah. I’m savoring this happy time. So I’m working on my book and listening to Winamp. And Rush’s “The Trees” comes on, and wow… what a rush. No pun intended. I’m remembering with Continue reading →

Belief and Metaphor

This is my second column in Rending the Veil, from January 2007. The first step to expanding your reality is to discard the tendency to exclude things from possibility. — Meridjet Paradigm Shifting and Reality Tunnels “‘Paradigm shift[ing]‘ has found uses. . . representing the notion of a major change in a certain thought-pattern — Continue reading →

My First Column from 2006

This is my first Into the Aethyr, my column for Rending the Veil. I’ll post more stuff at a later date. See also previous post. Through the Glass An aethyr is one of a succession of worlds in the Enochian Astral planes, and the fifth element, or spirit, in Wicca and Ceremonial magick. Also, depending Continue reading →

Bit of Thelemic Humor

From a chat log moments ago, as proof that I’m silly when I’m tired: david: before he says the thing about interpreting your own mystery he says about 24 “which to them that hath understanding signifies the interplay of the 3 and the 8.” 8 im assuming he means the magician — and 3 is Continue reading →

Meridjet Motives in a New Light

I was reading Wikipedia a bit ago, about schema therapy. There was a link at the bottom to their page on Cognitive Dissonance, in which I found this gem: Most of the research on cognitive dissonance takes the form of “induced compliance without sufficient justification.” In these studies, participants are asked to write an essay Continue reading →

Crossing the Abyss, From Meridjet

Well, as I said a few days ago, I’ve begun posting on this new site, PeopleJam. I made one post on spirit companions, and had some very nice comments. Quite a few, in fact, for a first post. So tonight I made another. For some reason, I used the rich text editor, which I never Continue reading →

Angels? Or Something

I’m looking at the next post in the archives (moving from most distant past, forward) of my old LiveJournal and it’s a post from 2003 regarding an angelic visitation in 1999. I was doing daily LBRP and other rituals at that time, and so was accustomed to seeing manifestations of the four archangels from that Continue reading →

Personal Growth Discussion

I was having a chat with a long-lost, rediscovered friend today that resulted in some stuff I wanted to save. Skim if you like, but I recommend reading. We were discussing qabala, and I found some quotes… Sheta: “The word nephesh (soul) designates the lower self in the time of sleep, whilst the term ‘ruach’ Continue reading →

Trust is a Difficult Issue

For documentation purposes, I need to post about a recent event, though there’s only so much I want to post publicly. I’m looking into a way to filter some posts to registered users of this site, but for now I will only give a sketchy description and it will have to do. A couple of weeks ago, Meridjet encouraged me to go out on a limb in a situation I was having trouble with. He told me that if I would trust him and “do what you need to do,” that it would resolve itself within a few days. He gave a specific day, Wednesday, and of course I took it to mean the following Wednesday. He also said that holding on to a situation too tightly out of
