Upcoming Prezzies for My Crew

This year, I hope that Rending the Veil becomes a more professional enterprise, and to promote that, I have ordered business cards for myself, Gerald, and Cally. I’m posting them because I want to. lol. I really need to sleep some more, but for now, have a gander at these…       I did Continue reading →

New Banner

I’m updating a few pages that didn’t have thumbnails yet, and while I was at it I made a banner from the logo that Mats made for the site. Here it is, for those inclined to post it. (You can find others in the “Of Interest” section above.) Link to http://spiritcompanion.com, of course.

Moved! and New Year, and Photos

Moved! This site has been moved to a new hosting company and a new server. There was some down time last night because I got sucked into watching Leverage with my daughter. We watched 3 episodes on the DVR, and then I checked the site to find a database error. Fixed it right around midnight, Continue reading →

Errors on the Internet

Well, it seems that my information was in error. I found the star info on some website purporting to share celestial events, but it wasn’t an astronomy site. I wasn’t able to find squat online for “stars December 2008″ anywhere else on Google, which is just weird. Maybe it was buried on page 10. In Continue reading →

Stars Tonight Were Amazing

I’ve never tried to photograph the stars before, but tonight as we came home from dinner, I marveled at the brightness of one near the moon. I knew it had to be a planet, but still I’d never seen a display like this before. It was huge, much brighter than a plane that passed nearby Continue reading →

A Wish and A Prayer

I received an email from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, the school that also runs the Art Institute Online. I get way too many phone calls and the occasional email from these guys, and I finally got fed up. I usually ignore them, but this time I wrote Al K. back thusly: To be honest, Continue reading →

I’m thrilled to announce that the fundraiser has been a smashing success! You folks are so generous and compassionate, and I am very grateful to each of you. Thank you so much! My account is out of the red and into the black by enough to save me from panicking – plus you came through Continue reading →

World AIDS Day

Yesterday was World AIDS Day, and as I often do, I got distracted and missed the opportunity to post about it. However, I’m going to make up for it now. Today while sitting in a waiting room and leafing through the most recent issue of Entertainment Weekly, I discovered a provocative ad. It was a Continue reading →

Art Present and Random News

I have a spiffy new header image up at the top of this page. It’s a gift from my friend Mats Holmgren, who has a gallery here. Bless his heart, he lets me beg free art from him on a regular basis, and is going to be illustrating a couple of joint projects in the Continue reading →

Tradition Demands It

I post this photo every Halloween. I’m working on Part 2 of my retrospective. Stay tuned.

Amazing Honor of Nature

The most amazing thing happened a few minutes ago. My daughter called me outside to see a butterfly emerging from its cocoon, and I managed to nab a few photos. Below are the best of the bunch, including one with another butterfly hanging around for moral support. I’m amazed and honored.
