I Can Feel It

There's some serious healing going on.

I just reserved our room for the House Kheperu Open House. I reserved for four nights — Thursday-Sunday nights with checkout on Monday. The convention is Friday (6-7 p.m) through Sunday (3-4 p.m.). My plan is to drive up, arriving earlier in the week and taking my time driving through Ohio so I can visit Continue reading →

The Otherkin Problem

You know, I actually enjoyed the Twilight movies. But I have never felt like I might be a sparkly vampire. Whew!

For the first time in at least a year and probably more like 2, I’m Processing something heavy. I’ve attempted to ignore it and brush it under the rug, and previously when these feelings emerged I was able to do that. This time, not so much. Worse, it’s become apparent to me that there are Continue reading →

Book Series, Part 2 – Doubt

What follows will be the last unfiltered bit of my manuscript that I will post. If you’d like to see more, please go here and sign up for this series. Chapter One, part 2: Doubt Doubt is one of the hardest challenges in the spirit companion (SC) relationship. Doubt can be anything from objectively waiting Continue reading →

Book Series, Part 1

Chapter One, part 1 For the purposes of this series of articles, a spirit companion is more than a spirit guide or a spirit friend. While technically each of these could be considered companions, the term “spirit companion” was created with a specific dynamic in mind. Simply put, a spirit companion (SC) is a spirit Continue reading →

Because Meridjet Demands It

I’ve been instructed, or prodded rather, to compose this entry by His Majesty, the at times annoying spirit guy that hangs out with me. I don’t know what’s on his mind, other than to recount the story of last night’s party. Last night as in Saturday night, because it’s still dark and I haven’t slept Continue reading →

Valentine My Valentine

I started this post on Thursday night, but got too sick to finish. I’m behind on my book editing assignment and I really don’t have time to do an update, I’m going to anyway because if I don’t, I may very well forget or decide it’s not important enough. I do the same thing with Continue reading →

Poll – Can I Have Your Opinion?

I’m taking a poll because this blog has at last reached the point where I either go for broke or start to seriously filter content. Meridjet is definitely stepping up the activity level, and it’s very clearly going to include a lot of astral level interaction. While I got used to this sort of thing Continue reading →

Meridjet Motives in a New Light

I was reading Wikipedia a bit ago, about schema therapy. There was a link at the bottom to their page on Cognitive Dissonance, in which I found this gem: Most of the research on cognitive dissonance takes the form of “induced compliance without sufficient justification.” In these studies, participants are asked to write an essay Continue reading →

OMFG

I didn’t plan to post tonight (hey, it’s still dark…), but this was too intense. First of all, let me thank those who commented to my last post. I’ll answer tomorrow. I was away today, but it’s been decided that Rending the Veil will go on hiatus after the Yule issue, until I can get Continue reading →

Halloweens of Yore, and Spirit-Induced UTIs

This post is from November 2, 2003 (the one I just posted was from October of 2003, but the events themselves were four years prior). I’m going to bed in a minute but wanted to leave one more Meridjet-related story before I went. I’m trying to sleep forward; sleep deprivation backfires and makes me manic, Continue reading →

Food For Thought

A friend of mine who is wise well beyond her years left me a comment in my LJ co-dependency crosspost (same post I made here). I don’t see you enabling people so much as . . . I don’t know, thriving on them working with you, not quite “needing” you but something along those lines Continue reading →

House Kheperu

I’ve been away for various reasons, and I’m not sure how much attention my various blogs and journals will get in the immediate future, but I’ll do my best to keep up.

Recently, my friend Kinjou Ten introduced me, sort of by proxy, to Michelle Belanger, author of the book The Psychic Vampire Codex and head of House Kheperu. I had heard of her from him prior to this, and from various other folks in passing, but was only vaguely informed on what exactly House Kheperu is and what she’s like. (I know this seems perhaps off-topic for this blog, but bear with me.) The things I’d heard about their paradigm were strange and off-putting, but there was at the same time a sort of glimmer in the back
