All is Well

If I had leaves, they'd be gray.

Kara came home from the hospital today. She’s got like 7 prescriptions and a breathing treatment apparatus to get her through the next two weeks. Fun times! We also need to make an appointment for a sleep study, so I’ll be calling her doctor tomorrow to let them know. But she’s fine, is breathing much better, and was touched to see everyone’s comments when I showed them to her on my cell phone. Thank you!

Obviously, things have been just a little crazy around here. Seems like forever ago that I cleaned in preparation for termite inspection and extermination, but that was the beginning of this frenzy and the last time I had more than five minutes “free” time. To recap:

  • One week spent cleaning for the termite guy
  • Half a week or so dealing with said termite guy
  • One week with Christina visiting me from up north
  • Half a day (immediately after she left) gardening, which I guess is technically my last so-called “free” time.
  • A solid week sicker than I’ve been in decades
  • Four days of my child in the hospital
  • Begin next thing now.

I’m really exhausted. I haven’t slept well while she’s been gone, not that it comes as any surprise. I did manage to watch half of Twilight one night and the entirety of it last night on a free Showtime preview. I figured it was a good time to catch it since Kara loathes the very idea of Twilight and I might never have seen it. ;) Anyway, it wasn’t at all what I expected. I found it a little young for me, but it was darker than I anticipated (if a “young” dark), and I know that if it had come out when I was in my teens, I’d have been a rabid fan. Kara has graciously agreed now to let me bring the books into the house, assuming we ever get the library fees paid off. heh.

In other news, because I’m a glutton for punishment I guess, I’ve created a dvd review blog. I only have an intro “About this Blog” post up so far. I’m trying to decide what to review first. Knowing me, it’ll probably be The Crow. Anyway, if you’re at all interested or know anyone who would be, I wouldn’t be averse to a little word of mouth exposure. :)

Time to make dinner. Tomorrow is soon enough to start the inevitable list of things I’m behind on. See you all soon.

  1. I’m glad your daughter is improving. I’m sorry I hadn’t noticed before that she was ill. I have been awful at checking blogs lately.

Oh, I’m so glad to hear that!

Me too! I have been quite concerned. Now we get to do round-the-clock breathing treatments for her with this nifty compressor/nebulizer they sent home! :)

I’m glad you are both on the upswing now! I hope Kara heals quickly.

I’ve read all of the Twilight books and see the movies as they come out. People tend to be black and white about them just like anything popular I guess. I enjoyed them. It’s not the great end all be all but it’s also not the worst thing ever written.

  4. Sarenth Sarenth says:

I’m glad you’ve both come out of this better. I was worried about you both for awhile there.
