Fundraiser: Urgent and Ongoing (for a while)

For immediate concern:
The feline division of Homeward Bound (that’s us) is in urgent and immediate need of funds for the care and treatment of the foster kittens and cats in our possession. Right now, we have five male kittens and two adult female fosters. The kittens and one of the adults need to be altered (spayed/neutered), and all need their shots. The kittens have not had their shots yet as I can’t afford them. I can’t even afford flea treatment at this time. I’ve spent over $400 in the last two months on cat food, cat litter, four doses of Advantage, cat treats, etc. The two adult females need FHIV and feline leukemia tests before they can be adopted out. Unaltered animals cannot be adopted out. Our goal at Homeward Bound is to spay/neuter found and rescued animals and re-home them to permanent homes. We must give shots, animals must be tested for heartworms and any other problems, and all must be free of fleas – a real issue here in south Texas.
I can’t pay my bills if I am taking care of all these cats without any income. We live on a fixed income from Social Security disability, and get less than $1000 a month for all our expenses (bills, food, gasoline, a billion cats, etc.). I absolutely cannot afford to pay for vet visits without your help. I can’t even afford the food and other items I’m paying for. We have a pending deal set up with PetCo in our area, to get damaged merchandise (torn containers, etc.) and put our cats in there to be adopted out, BUT we have to have our non-profit status first, and that alone is $1500. Needless to say, it’s not an option right now. We’re trying to find sponsors, but meanwhile we still have to deal with the other costs before the cats (and dogs) can be released to new homes.
Please help. Send whatever you can, as often as you can. I am committed to helping animals as much as I can, and at times I’ve sacrificed food for my family in order to take care of these animals. I can’t keep doing this without you. Consider a 2.5% of your paycheck donation on a regular basis, and be a guardian angel for these animals. I’ll even make anyone committing to a regular gift a graphic to put on your website. And as always, anyone giving $25 or more will receive a free tarot reading. Just send me your email address and your two questions. And thank you.

Wow…I know vet bills can be horrendous. I’m still paying off my cat’s dental surgery. It was around $700 and I still have $250 to go. Last year it was the dogs that had dental work, which cost me $2500. I haven’t been to the dentist myself in three years!
I’ll send a little something when I send the payment for the ad on Thursday. I’ll keep it separate so as to avoid confusion.
Lily Strange´s last blog ..People who really just need to die for the sake of the rest of us
No need to keep it separate — I won’t forget what’s what.
It’ll be cheaper on my PayPal fees to keep it all together.
I have never had a pet in for dental work. Never had a vet remark after an exam that any work was needed, thankfully. I can’t afford to keep my teeth under care so I can’t afford the animals’ either, especially at $2500! Hopefully it won’t be an issue for a while longer!
Also, thank you.
