For those who care, my birthday is coming up at the end of the month, on the 29th. I’m saving to buy a compost turner on Amazon.com, so anyone who wants to give birthday gift items is recommended to purchase Amazon gift cards. My email address is sheta@rendingtheveil.com. I’d be very excited to be able to buy this by the end of the month.
Two or three more days and I’ll be done with this book edit, after which I will be cracking down on yard work, house organization, writing my book, and of course, the next issue of Rending the Veil, due to premiere April 15 for Beltane. I have several “side” projects as well – helping a friend with her subtle senses, working on jewelry to sell in a shop at the mall, animal rescue (as always), and the other 80 things that currently slip my mind.
I’m excited, though. I can feel big, happy changes coming!
I’ll see you folks very soon. Keep the faith, meanwhile!

Well, at least you’re not in my reference class and trying to make sense of words written by someone who’s not very good with the English. Or having two assignments to work on, two more waiting to happen, and 6 chapters to be read this week,
*breathes*
Anyway, awesome item there! If I can I may throw a few dollars your way. Are you just going to do ornamental gardening this year?
Probably, because I don’t want to get too ambitious and it’s the first year I’ve even ventured outdoors in over 10 years for anything more than a ride on the lawn mower. I’ve got some shrubs, some bulbs, some hardy plants that survived years of neglect, and i want to get a few flats of annuals to fill in as I test myself and my commitment to this. If I stick with it, the next year I’ll fill in with more ambitious plants and try a few lettuces.
Starting from seed never works for me somehow. I need to figure out why before I try that again. And I have no idea whether it’s possible to buy pre-started veggie plants other than tomatoes.
I want to gradually reclaim my border beds (which amount to about 200-300 sq feet, and go from there. If I make it through that, the sky’s the limit.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I’ll try to send you some cash, too. Might not be much, but I will try
What kind of gardening are you going to do?
Thank you.
See above in my reply to Soli. I love gardening but the heat and I don’t mix well, so I have to see how it goes. For now, new shrubs and some annuals — just getting the beds cleaned up is going to be a big job.
Cool. A lot of the plants I love can’t be grown around here…and it makes me sad. I feel sorry for zones 1-3. Good luck with your garden by the way. I am just starting to get my green thumb going. Seems that working a floral department helps. I can now have living plants, other than bamboo (which I do love!!) .
Where do you live? I’m in Zone 9! It has it’s own problems. I loved gardening in Seattle — the earth there is amazing.
