Speechless, Are We?

I know I shouldn’t be surprised that no one commented on my Valentine’s post after clamoring for it, but I am. It irks me, because it was difficult for me to put myself out there like that. I haven’t decided yet how I’ll deal with it. For the time being, I’m too busy working to worry about it. I’m also hungry, so food first, then work, then later I’ll worry.

I’m not really sure what kind of comment you were looking for. I’m not really comfortable with the idea of offering a thumbs up or thumbs down on someones love affair. (unless its one of my kids-thats a different story).

The only thing I can think to comment on is that I’m sorry you really didn’t taste the snails-properly done, french style snails are a lovely garlicky tidbit. I ate them for the first time on my honeymoon.

I wasn’t seeking approval or disapproval. Just some semblance of acknowledgment. After all the leading up to the post, to have everyone seem to vanish and the only sound the proverbial crickets was a little unnerving. It’s hard enough to confess “weird” things with no worry about judgment (and I do still worry, at times), without that sudden quiet that could be suggestive of a stunned or dismayed audience. The very fact that it was deeply personal is the whole reason people should comment. It’s very self-conscious making.

Sorry–I just hadn’t been by yet! And I was/am too brain dead to say anything of any real use, but I did just comment.

Heh, and in my case blame it on travel/vacation and stress. So of course now I have sinus junk. :/

Also, this was the first Valentine’s day in a very long time that I actually got a gift from someone not a relative or coworker. That was nice. :)

Well, in my defense, I didn’t clamor for it :-P But I found it interesting to read. I understand the feeling when nobody comments on something! ::hugs:: But for the record, if I had been dismayed, I probably would have voiced it :-P
