The Usual End of Year Survey

1.) Where did you ring in 2008?
You know what? I can’t remember. No doubt that means I was at home doing nothing of note.

2.) What was your status by Valentine’s Day?
Attached as usual. He despises Valentine’s Day, and will tell anyone who will listen how he resents being told when to buy gifts and, worse, what gifts to buy. He’s getting a little better about it now — at least he doesn’t disappear for the day.

3.) Were you in school (anytime this year)?
No.

4.) How did you earn your keep?
8-} I’m a nutcase, duh. Also, I edit books (which doesn’t pay much), and fix computers when I get the opportunity.

5.) Did you have to go to the hospital?
I’m not sure. We’ve had to make several visits in recent years for my daughter, who sprains her ankles quite a bit (long story), and for me for kidney stones and various other issues, but I don’t think we made a trip this year. Which is surprising.

6.) Did you have any encounters with the police?
Nope.

7.) Did you know anybody who got married?
No.

8.) Did you know anybody who passed away?
You know, I refuse to answer this question because last time I did, someone died on Christmas Day.

9.) Have you run into anybody you graduated high school with?
No, but I did find an old friend from 25 years ago.

10.) Did you move anywhere?
No.

11.) What sporting events did you go to?
Nada.

12.) What concerts/shows did you go to?
Nada again. I’m soooo boring.

13.) Are you registered to vote?
Yes.

14.) If so, did you do your patriotic duty on [last time you were supposed to vote]?
Yes, and for Obama. I even voted for him in the primary. It was my first primary.

15.) Where do you live now?
Outside Houston, TX.

16.) Describe your birthday.
It was uneventful.

17.) What’s the one thing you thought you would never do but did in 2008?
I have a list. Lost my best friend and roommate, was deceived, learned a lot about self-deception, grew a lot, owned up to a lot. Not done yet, but it’s a process.

18.) What is one thing you regret from this year?
Considering how it’s going now, I can’t really regret the events as they occurred. I am sorry about a few things, however. Sorry I hurt people, sorry I was hurt. Stuff like that.

19.) What do you want for Christmas?
A new flat panel monitor.

20.) Any new additions to your family?
No! Thank god.

21.) What was your best month?
This year was very difficult. But it was in October that the first light at the end of the tunnel was sighted.

22.) What from pop culture will you remember that happened in 2008.
Robert Downey Jr. winning his battle and proving it in Iron Man, and Heath Ledger’s Joker. Both were very hot. *fans self*

23.) How do you plan to ring in 2009?
I’m sure I’ll be too broke to go anywhere. So I’ll be sitting here, as usual.

24.) What has been your favourite moment?
When they announced that Barak Obama had won the election.

25.) What’s something you learned about yourself?
I learned how to take hard looks at things I didn’t want to see, how to allow myself to accept that I am not perfect and that I can improve on so many levels.

26.) Who has been your best drinking buddy?
Nobody.

27.) Made new friends?
A couple of online friends and recently, one offline potential friend.

28.) New best friend?
Cally probably comes closest to “best” friend status out of the new people I got to know.

29.) Favourite Night Out?
Would have to have been a movie night, since I’m fairly certain those are the only ones I had.

Sheta Kaey About Sheta Kaey

I teach people to perceive, communicate, and work with spirits. Beyond that, I'm kinda normal.

Sometimes I write things. Sometimes I edit things. Sometimes, people even see them.
