Amazing Honor of Nature

The most amazing thing happened a few minutes ago. My daughter called me outside to see a butterfly emerging from its cocoon, and I managed to nab a few photos. Below are the best of the bunch, including one with another butterfly hanging around for moral support.

I’m amazed and honored.

That’s so cool. The wings on that one are great. I haven’t seen many butterflies since moving here but I’m sure they’re around.

@Karen: It was amazing, and even more so that I managed to take pictures that turned out well. I’m very pleased. :)

@Aydira: What sorts of wildlife do you see in Australia? I’ve been wondering!

  7. aydira aydira says:

Well I think the bugs are similar for the most part but I do see some weird ones that I never would have imagined. Around our house we get flying foxes (which are like bats but mammals) and possums. There are a lot of brightly colored birds that make crazy noises too hehehe. I’ve seen some wild kangaroos and emus when we went out driving. That was pretty cool.

    I miss raccoons!

@aydira: I have raccoons and opossums around here… feel free to take as many as you like. :D I’d love to see a kangaroo. I don’t want to see any of those Aussie snakes though!
